This week, we found this story out of Virginia about a 14-year-old Boy Scout named Beck Garnett.
For the last seven years, Beck has been the number one fundraiser in the state, raising money by selling popcorn for the Boy Scouts.
Those snacks have helped Beck raise over 100 thousand dollars in seven years. All the money goes to Boy Scouts that are less fortunate than him. It allows them to have the new gear instead of hand-me-downs and worn-out backpacks. It also gives them a chance at the same opportunities and the same trips that other Scouts are afforded.
Beck says that what’s great is that he can see how his hard work of raising the money is put to good use when he gets to work alongside some of those scouts.

Kix’s Response:
Beck, it sounds like you are an impressive kid! And, your parents must be, too, for teaching you the importance of helping others. What a great story!
