Hero of the Week: Elizabeth Stewart

Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.

Hannah Stewart emailed us with her Hero nomination, and she would like to recognize her mom, Elizabeth. Hannah writes:

Dear Kix,

My sister lost her battle with leukemia was just was just nine years old. Shortly after that, in 2008, my mom started a hat drive in my sister’s memory. The organization is called Hats for Hope and collects hats and scarves, lots of items for children undergoing treatment. We remember my sister found so much joy picking out items while she was at the hospital, and we hope to bring that same kind of joy to other children.

We have grown over the years and have delivered items to St. Jude and Duke, as well as to the Nemours Children’s Clinic in Florida.  We look forward to seeing where God takes us next and the lives that we will touch.

Signed,
Hannah

Kix’s Response:

Well, that’s a wonderful mission, Hannah! Thanks for writing in. Keep up the good work, and this week, your mom, Elizabeth, is our Hero!
