Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.
This week, we’d like to spotlight a nine-year-old boy out of Tampa, Florida, as our hero.
Lindell Lyons was at home when his mom shouted to call 911 because she was going into labor. Well, Lindell got a hold of the dispatcher and explained that his mom was having a baby.
The dispatcher Jared McYeo calmly told Lindell that he was going to have to help his sister come into this world. Jared walked him through the birth while an ambulance was on its way.
The dispatcher said that he’s had to talk people through delivering babies in the past but Lindell was more calm and did better than most adults! He added that the boy was very calm and knew he could do it.
As for Lindell, he said he’s very proud of himself and kind of feels like a hero. He said that he can’t wait to tell his baby sister – named Princess – that he actually delivered her – even though he doesn’t think she’ll believe him.
