The Song Remembers When: Morgan Wallen – “Whiskey Glasses”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

Morgan Wallen enjoyed his second number one this past summer when “Whiskey Glasses” rose to the top of the chart and stayed there for three weeks.

It was co-written by Ben Burgess and Kevin Kadish, who is known for writing pop songs like Meghan Trainor’sAll About That Bass.” Kevin said that writing for a country artist is pretty much the same thing as writing for pop, adding that a good song is a good song regardless of genre. Now, Ben is a friend of Morgan’s, and he said that the success of “Whiskey Glasses” is a testament to Morgan’s talent as an artist.

As for the song’s sentiment, even though it was a break up song, Morgan didn’t want it to sound sad. Well, he succeeded because his audience never looks sad when he kicks off this one; they just hold up their glasses!

This week’s The Song Remembers When is Morgan Wallen with “Whiskey Glasses.”
