Keoni Ching, an eight-year-old student in Vancouver, Washington, wanted to do something for his elementary school’s “Kindness Week” – that’s when he came up with the idea of making key chains. He decided to sell them for five dollars and use that money to pay off all the lunch debt incurred by students at his school.

Well, Keoni probably didn’t think that he would raise over four thousand dollars but that’s what happened! The community and people around the world heard about his mission and ended up buying hundreds of key chains. Not only had Keoni pay off student lunch debt at his own school, but he has at six other schools as well!

And, if you’re wondering why he wanted to make key chains, Keoni says that they look good on his backpack.
