This week, Isabella, from Louisiana, writes in to nominate her older sister Haili Primeaux as our Hero. She writes:

Growing up we had an extremely tough childhood.  Our parents were never really around. And, there were never enough of the necessities, including food.  Although she is a type 1 diabetic, Haili sacrificed what she had for me and our little brother. She knew she should be eating to stay healthy, but she was more worried about us being fed.

She is truly a hero in my eyes and in many other peoples. I hope you can see that.

Signed,
Isabella

Kix’s Response:

Thank you, Isabella, for writing in. And, first of all, I’m sorry to hear about you having to endure such a hard childhood.  No kid in this country should ever worry about having enough to eat. There are places like No Kid Hungry or Feeding America that offer help.

Your sister Haili sounds like a great guardian for you and your brother. I think it’s so important to have the strength of your siblings by your side.

So, Haili, you are this week’s Kidde Hero!
