Hero of the Week: Claire Timko

Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.

This week, Amanda Blehl, from Allentown, Pennsylvania, nominates her cousin Claire Timko. She writes:

Dear Kix,

My cousin Claire Timko has worked tirelessly to support her community in Nassau County, New York, during the pandemic. She has worked with the local police. She organized and delivered food to healthcare workers. She made masks to hand out to those who didn’t have them. And, she even put out soil, seeds, and pots at the end of her driveway for others to take so that they could start their own vegetable gardens. Her acts of kindness are just what the world needs.

Thank you, Kix!

Signed,
Amanda

Kix’s Response:

Amanda, I agree – these kinds of stories always inspire me. I think all of us “non-pros” need to try and make a difference. We’ve gotta do what we can and put a smile on the day just like Claire does… I mean, we can’t all be doctors or firefighters, but we can help!

And, thank you for writing in, Amanda. It’s my pleasure to recognize your cousin Claire Timko as this week’s ACC Hero!
