Hero of the Week: Ryan Sweet

Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.

This week, we received an email from Tess Sweet, out of Missouri. She writes:

Dear Kix,

I would like to nominate my husband, Ryan Sweet. Back in August, I broke my ankle in several places. This knocked me down and forced my husband to have to do everything. My pain was so bad that I couldn’t even do the basics for myself. He would go as far as to wash my hair for me and even painted my toenails to help lift my spirits.

Ryan works eight to ten-hour days, yet still managed to do all the house cleaning and cooking. On top of that, he helps our daughter with her virtual classes and me with all of my doctor appointments.

I am now able to walk with a crutch, and I can’t tell you how happy that makes me. We recently decorated our Christmas tree together because I can stand up right. I can tell you there’s nothing better than being able to walk to him and kiss him under the mistletoe.

For all that he has sacrificed over the last several months and celebrating me getting back on my feet, I truly can’t say enough about him.

He is a blessing, and he is my hero!

Signed,
Tess

Kix’s Response:

Wow, Tess! I think when we look to our partners for being there in sickness and in health, it sounds like you picked the right man.

First, I’m glad that you’re doing better! And second, it would be an honor to name your husband, Ryan Sweet, as this week’s ACC Hero.
