Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.
This week, we share a dog hero story from Toronto, Canada. Ten-year-old Lily Kwan was walking her Yorkie Macy when she looked back to see a coyote trailing them. She started to run and so did the coyote.
As it closed in on them, Lily dropped Macy’s leash while running. Well, that little dog turned and faced that coyote and put up a good fight! Lily was able to get help from a nearby house and they were all surprised to see Macy keeping that coyote at bay.
Unfortunately, the Yorkie did suffer some lacerations and had to have surgery. The family started a GoFundMe page and surpassed their original goal of 10 thousand dollars, reaching over 27 thousand! Hopefully, that excess money will go to spoiling little Macy as she recovers with good food and a nice big bed!

I love this… So, little Macy, I’m happy to say you are this week’s ACC Hero for protecting your 10-year-old person and going to battle against that coyote!
