We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…
Back in 2018, the lead single from Kane Brown’s Experiment album would become his third consecutive number one hit. “Lose It” was written by Kane along with Chase McGill and Will Weatherly during a road trip back to Nashville.
For Kane, the meaning of “Lose It” was about getting away from it all – your phones, social media – all of it. The idea was to just shut out the world’s problems and get away with the one you love. Ironically, Kane first introduced the song to fans on social media, dancing with his dog to the chorus.
It would be the first time he put fiddles on a song, playing into the album’s title of experimentation and trying out different sounds. Kane said that his hope was this could be a song people could two-step to.
The video for the tune would go on to win a CMT Music Award and eventually become certified double platinum.
