Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.
This week, we share a story about James Morris, a Florida man who not only turned his life around but is finding a way to help others.
James is a recovering addict. He uses his experience of getting sober by reaching out to anyone who needs help through his Facebook page The Hope Shot. He says that he and his group of motivational speakers get together and host a Facebook Live broadcast almost every night to offer hope and give information on where folks can turn if they need the help.
Not only does he make himself available through groups on the Facebook page, but he also does random acts of kindness, like purchasing 20 Christmas Trees last season and delivering them to folks who couldn’t get out or didn’t have the finances. The married father of five says that being called a “hero” is a big responsibility but he’s happy to just be there for others.
