Jocelyn, from Kalispell, Montana, wrote in to nominate William Keck as one of ACC’s Heroes of the Week. She writes:
Dear Kix,
I would like to nominate William Keck, from my town of Kalispell, for Hero of the Week. William was at his gym and had ran to his truck in the parking lot to get his wallet when he heard gunshots ring out. He quickly grabbed his gun from his vehicle. When he saw the suspect with the gun, he yelled, “Stop!” But, the gunman fired at him. William returned fire hitting the man.
Once the shooter was on the ground, William told him to stay down, but the gunman, who was still holding his gun, shot William, hitting him in the leg. William went inside the building for medical care and soon the police arrived.
Unfortunately, the gunman had shot someone inside the gym, but things could’ve been worse had William not been there and reacted the way he did. He is a hero to me and the community of Kalispell.
Signed,
Jocelyn

Kix’s Response:
Well, we often hear when we are really needed it’s a fight or flight feeling… I’m sure most police officers would advise that you shouldn’t get in a gunfight, but I’m sure William did what looked like the right thing to him at the time. Thank you, Jocelyn, for sharing the story and I’m glad things weren’t worse. William, you are our ACC Hero of the Week!
