Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.
This week, we received a Hero nomination from Robert Myers. He writes:
Hi Kix,
I’d like to nominate my mother, Judy Wiggins, from Naylor, Georgia, for Hero of the Week. I am the youngest of her five children. After I arrived, she adopted five more through the foster care system.
My mom has been a foster parent for over 20 years and is still fostering children at 72 years old. On top of that, she also has adopted my two youngest sisters, ages 13 and 14.
My mother loves each and every child that comes through our door and cares for them just as she did for me as I was growing up. She has never discriminated against race or color. She is the strongest person I know and has touched the lives of almost 100 children. She is and will always be my hero!
Thank you,
Robert

Kix’s Response:
Well, Robert, your mother sounds like an amazing woman. I love your family’s story because it does shine the spotlight on something we need in this country – foster parents. The difference a person can make on a child’s life can have a ripple effect that will last a lifetime. And, to think your mother made an impact on 100 children, well that is as powerful as it gets.
We are more than happy to recognize Judy Wiggins as our ACC Hero!
