Hero of the Week: Robert Sommers

Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.

This week, a young student named Keegan, out of Salem, Ohio, wrote in to nominate his grandfather Robert Sommers, who he lost back in September. He writes:

Dear ACC,

My grandpa always had a positive outlook and wore a smile on his face. He was hero to me and my entire family.

As an avid golfer, he taught me everything I know about the sport. When I stayed over his house, he couldn’t wait to make me the best scrambled eggs and his homemade donuts.

He touched everyone’s life he came in contact with, and he will forever be my hero.

Signed,
Keegan

Suzanne’s Response:

I love this Hero nomination because it shows how important family is – the impact that we have on each other and the generations that follow. It’s a trickle-down effect and that positivity will spread throughout the community, but it starts in the home.

So, yes, Keegan, your grandfather Robert sounds like he was a great man, and we’re happy to recognize him as our ACC Hero of the Week!
