Have you heard about the 11-year-old that Time magazine just named “Kid of the Year?” Well, Orion Jean is on mission to deliver kindness.
It started two years ago when he won the National Kindness Speech Contest. The pandemic had started, and Orion felt that people needed hope. His speech centered around being kind to each other.
With the 500-dollar speech contest winnings, Orion launched his Race to Kindness initiative. His first goal? Delivering 500 toys to a local children’s hospital! He then held a food drive that resulted in over 100 thousand meals to families in need. Next, Orion collected 500 thousand books and gave them to kid fairs around the country.
Orion hopes to inspire others through his kindness. Learn more about this story as covered by Time.
