Hero of the Week: Abby Ehrler

Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.

This week, we received an email from Amanda Ehrler. She writes:

Hey Kix,

I would love to nominate my 16-year-old daughter Abby as Hero of the Week. She started her own non-profit called Abby’s Blankets of Strength for kids battling cancer and other illnesses. We deliver these blankets to children’s hospitals in bulk or mail them directly to their homes. She started this a little over a year ago and it continues to grow.

Abby herself was diagnosed with thyroid cancer when she was just 12 and has undergone several surgeries, so she can relate to what these kids are facing. For Abby, she just wants to give them a moment of joy and put a smile on their faces with a gift of a comforting blanket.

Abby is an absolutely amazing girl and definitely nothing short of a hero!

Signed,
Amanda

Kix’s Response:

Well, Amanda, you’re right. Your daughter Abby sounds pretty amazing! And, we are happy to recognize Abby Ehrler as our ACC Hero of the Week!
