We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…
Song: “Am I The Only One”
Songwriters: Dierks Bentley, Jim Beavers, and Jon Randall
Album: Home
Dierks Bentley released his bluegrass-inspired album Up On The Ridge in June 2010. The project was something he felt he had to do. Dierks was itching it make it and be as creative as possible. The projected ended up being critically acclaimed, but the songs didn’t make an impact on the radio airwaves.
When Dierks headed back into the studio for his sixth album, Home, he wanted to get back on radio and have something fans could sink their teeth into. The first single was “Am I The Only One.” It was a straight-ahead, “let’s party and have a good time” song.
Fans were ready for it! “Am I The Only One” put Dierks back at the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart. And, the album’s next two singles – “Home” and “5-1-5-0” – also topped the chart.
