Hero of the Week: Massiah Browne

Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.

Massiah Browne, a seven-year-old in Sacramento, California, headed out of his apartment building and was looking forward to jumping into the pool. When he was about to dive in, Massiah noticed a small child at the bottom!

He dove in and grabbed the three-year-old boy by the arm and pulled him up to the surface. Someone who witnessed the event called 9-1-1, while another adult started CPR. The toddler is in critical condition and being treated at the Sacramento hospital.

Massiah’s father said that he’s not surprised his son acted so fast. Massiah has a lot of empathy and doing something like that would not be out of the norm for him.

Kix’s Response:

How about that?! We’d like to recognize second-grader Massiah Browne for his quick thinking.  Buddy, your actions gave that little boy a fighting chance and that is hero stuff right there! Massiah, you are our ACC Hero!
