Hero of the Week: Sam Kuhnert

In Illinois, an avid hunter named Sam Kuhnert started a series of camps for kids with limb differences. Sam has a limb difference himself, but he never lets that stop him from doing what he loves.

So, Sam started the organization NubAbility to teach kids that just because you’re different doesn’t mean you can’t do what everyone else does. The camps teach kids that their differences can be used as a tool instead of being something that holds them back.

The themed camps focus on hunting and sports. Sam says that many kids are left out of sports mainly because people don’t know how to coach a kid with a limb difference. Rather than find an easy way for that child to do something, teach that child how to adapt!

Kids come from all over the country to attend these camps and they leave with a lot of confidence knowing they can do anything!
