The Song Remembers When: Cole Swindell – “Single Saturday Night”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

Song: “Single Saturday Night”
Songwriters: Ashley Gorley, HARDY, and Mark Holman
Album: Stereotype, Stereotype Broken

In 2021, Cole Swindell scored his sixth number one, “Single Saturday Night.” It was the first single from his album Stereotype. The song was written by Ashley Gorley, HARDY, and Mark Holman.

It was about ten at night after Cole had just got home from a birthday party for Thomas Rhett when he received a text from Ashley saying, “Take a listen to this song.” About five minutes later, HARDY sent him a similar message with the same song.

Cole thought they must really feel strong about this song, so he listened to it. After playing it about ten times, he knew this was the something he was missing on his album. Cole felt like it was fun and a perfect summer song, and he was right.

“Single Saturday Night” was released to radio in July 2020, and by the following summer, he would reach the top of the chart where he would stay for two weeks.
