The Song Remembers When: Kane Brown – “Bury Me in Georgia”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

Song: “Bury Me in Georgia”
Songwriters: Kane Brown, Josh Hoge, Matt McGinn, and Jordan Schmidt
Album: Different Man

Although Kane Brown was born in Chattanooga, he was raised in Georgia. So, naturally, Kane wanted to pay tribute to his home state. He did that with “Bury Me in Georgia.” You could say that the song is instructions from Kane on where he wants to be laid to rest. He said that no matter where he travels, Georgia will always have his heart.

“Bury Me in Georgia” is part of Kane’s third album Different Man. The album starts with “Bury Me in Georgia” and the last track on the project is another tribute to his state titled “Dear Georgia.” But, it was the first track that got sent to radio and eventually hit the top of the chart, becoming Kane’s 10th number one. Last year, Kane performed the platinum-certified song at the ACM Awards.
