Hero of the Week: Bryan Stern

Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.

This week, we received an email from Olivia who wanted to nominate her husband Bryan Stern as ACC’s Hero of the Week. She writes:

Dear Kix,

My husband took an oath to serve and protect the United States 25 years ago when he joined the U.S. armed forces. He’s been guided by his deep commitment to philanthropy and a belief that one person can make a difference in the lives of others.

While serving in both the Army and Navy at an early age, Bryan was only 22 when the tragic events took place on 9/11. He was in New York City working as an Army intelligence officer. He arrived at the towers right after the first plane hit. Bryan, like many others, just wanted to do all he could to help. He spent the days that followed looking through the rubble for survivors.

Years later, Bryan watched as several wars took place. He started a non-profit called Grey Bull Rescue to save lives and ensure no American is left behind. He has conducted operations in 35 countries as well as stateside.

He is an inspiration and a hero again and again. Thank you for your time and I hope you can recognize him as your Hero of the Week.

Signed,

Olivia

Kix’s Response:

Well, Olivia, I had the honor of going to Iraq and Afghanistan during those wars. I can certainly tell you it was no party over there, so thank you so much to your husband. For a man who took an oath to do all he can for this country, I cannot say enough about his heroism.

And, I know this week will be a hard one for all those who lost someone on that tragic day on 9/11.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all those whose lives were changed.

To Bryan Stern… thank you for all you did that day and continue to do – you are our ACC Hero.
