This week, we received an email from a listener named Robert. He wrote:
Dear Kix,
I want to share my story. I was in a terrible car wreck with my dog, Bailey. I flipped seven times, broke 15 bones, and flatlined twice. I was pinned inside the car, upside down, in the middle of a field. I couldn’t see my hand in front of my face. I screamed, “God, help me! I’m sorry!” Finally, I was able to reach my phone with one hand and called 911. They answered, “Is that you? We’re tracking your dog.”
I saw flashing lights and then Bailey came running through the broken glass, licking my face, as if to say everything would be okay. I’m tearing up just telling you this… They said I flatlined again. Next, they tried to corral my dog, but when she heard me moan in pain, she jumped onto my chest in the ambulance. I woke up in a helicopter.
There’s much more to this story, but I wanted to share this part—about my hero, my dog Bailey. I named her after the dog in the movie A Dog’s Purpose because she saved my life. If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t be here today.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Love y’all.
Signed,
Robert
