In Fort Worth, Texas, Lyn Story has been making a big difference in her community. After retiring, Lyn wanted to give back during her free time. So, she turned to the Nextdoor app and offered free rides to anyone in need.
People started to take her up on her offer! April Goodwin began relying on Lyn for rides to medical appointments. Kevin Horrigan, who is blind, used her to get to work. Despite her car occasionally breaking down and the rising cost of gas, Lyn kept going, determined to help her neighbors.
When David Kelleher, a car dealer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, heard about Lyn’s dedication and the challenges she faced with her vehicle, he stepped in. He partnered with a local Fort Worth dealership and gifted Lyn a brand-new car! They covered everything including the title, tags, and insurance.
Thanks to this incredible act of kindness, Lyn can continue her mission of supporting those who need it most in her community.
