This week, we honor a group in Middle Tennessee that we read about in The Tennessean newspaper…

When the recent snowstorm hit the Nashville, the city pretty much shut down. And, because the area is not accustomed to dealing with a lot of snow especially when it comes to some of those country roads up on the ridge, we tend to depend on the kindness of strangers.

A local Jeep club in Tennessee asked their members to head out and help those in need.  Paul McCallister, one of the members of the club, said that people in the community reached them through Facebook.  And, members were not only pulling cars out of ditches, but thanks to their four wheel drive vehicles, they were asked to do many things. For example, one member drove a woman to work, while another picked a woman up who was stranded at the store and couldn’t get back home because the roads had become harder to navigate. He even had a request to pick up a man at a Nashville hospital after surgery and drive him home.

So this week, we’d like to recognize this group of Jeep drivers as our Kidde Heroes of the Week – ordinary folks who had the ability to do some extraordinary things. Pretty neat story! And, the winter is not over yet, folks! It’s great to see neighbors looking out for each other.
