Before signing his record deal, Luke Combs had built up a nice following in the surrounding area of his home state of North Carolina. When he decided to self-fund a recording session, things started changing. The success of Luke’s independent EP, which featured a song titled “Hurricane,” grabbed the attention of Nashville, and the song ended up becoming Luke’s first number one. Luke told Billboard, “You can’t really plan on any of that stuff happening, but it did.”
Now, Luke has another number one (“When It Rains It Pours”), a gold-certified debut album (This One’s For You), and a sold-out headlining tour. We’d say that’s a pretty solid start for a new artist… and it’s one that Luke hopes to build on in 2018.
In this visit with Kix, Luke reflects on the realities of having a dream come true and the decision behind giving Nashville a try. And, apparently Luke has quite the Brooks & Dunn hat collection… He talks about that and more in Kix TV.
Luke Combs’ debut album, This One’s For You, is in stores now. It features his two chart-topping hits, plus Luke’s latest single “One Number Away.” For more, visit LukeCombs.com.
