Jon Pardi’s third single from his California Sunrise album was “Heartache On The Dance Floor.” The song was written by Jon, his producer Bart Butler, and songwriter Brice Long.
Now, Brice and Bart met up with Jon on the road to do some writing together. One night, Jon walked on the bus, and he was singing, “Where she at; Where she at; Where she at tonight?” Brice looked at Bart and said, “If we don’t mess this thing up, we’ve got us a hit here!”
So, the next morning, they started writing on it. And, before the day was over, they had finished the song. Brice said that they went with a story about Jon seeing a girl out in California since he’s from there and the rest just fell in place.
