The Song Remembers When: Zac Brown Band’s “Loving You Easy”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

In 2015, the Zac Brown Band would go to the top of the chart with “Loving You Easy.” It was the third single from their Jekyll + Hyde album and it was co-written by Zac Brown, Niko Moon, and Al Anderson.

Zac said that the song was a tip of the hat to what he called that “Philly soul and Motown” sound. And, he felt that the last chorus was reminiscent of Stevie Wonder and the Jackson 5. The song’s lyrics were about paying respect to the women in our lives. Zac wanted to write a song that wasn’t about the makeup and the clothes you wear, it’s about just being a natural beauty.

He called this one a modern-day oldie, and just like older songs, he kept this one short – it’s only two-and-a-half minutes long. Zac said that it’s like a summer breeze – it’s there and then it’s gone.
