Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.
This week, Haley, from Minnesota, sent us an email. She writes:
Hi Kix,
I would like to nominate our dear friends Alex and Deanna Lessman. In June, they experienced the loss of one of their twin boys, three-year-old Lincoln. He passed away in a tragic farming accident.
Immediately following this tragic event, the community gathered around Alex and Deanna helping them cope with their grief. The way the couple and their two other children have gone on is inspiring. They’ve set up an agricultural scholarship in Lincoln’s honor. They’re also making and selling baked goods to help a nearby member of their community, who also lost a son.
The Lessmans are choosing to live in faith daily and to pay it forward. Rather than dwelling in the sadness, they are choosing to honor Lincoln’s legacy by helping their community and surrounding community members. This family is inspiring, kind, and very deserving to be Hero of the Week.
Signed,
Haley

Kix’s Response:
Well, Haley, thank you so much for nominating Alex and Deanna. I am so sorry for their loss.
I think it’s inspiring to see how they’ve continued Lincoln’s legacy in that community, and I’m happy to call Alex and Deanna Lessman our ACC Heroes of the Week.
