This week, we turn the spotlight on a celebrity. Jon Bon Jovi was in Nashville shooting a music video for his song “The People’s House.” The video shoot was taking place on the Pedestrian Bridge, which is used by fans to cross the river from downtown Nashville to Nissan Stadium and back. Typically, a shoot like this would be locked down, meaning that no one outside the shoot is allowed in the area, but the bridge remained open.
Jon and a production assistant spotted a woman on the other side of the railing, looking like she was contemplating jumping. They walked over to her very carefully. There’s a video that shows Jon talking to the woman as he approached her. Eventually, they helped her step back onto the bridge. Jon hugged the woman as he got her to safety and stayed with her until the police arrived.
Jon Bon Jovi is the founder of the JBJ Soul Foundation which provides resources to help people out of homelessness, poverty, and hunger here in the U.S. Through that work, he has been trained to speak to people in distress.

The right guy was in the right place at the right time. I’m glad Jon was there to have the ability to convince this woman that her life was worth saving. If you or someone you know are in crisis, you can access help by calling 988.
