Hero of the Week: Sgt. Michael Ferrell

Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.

This week, we received an email nomination for Hero of the Week from Stacey. She writes:

Hello Kix,

My name is Stacey Idell, and I’d like to nominate my brother Sgt. Michael Ferrell.  He is retired from the military, and although he’s no longer serving our country, he hasn’t slowed down at all.

Michael and his team of helpers are doing great work in our community by building beds for kids who are in need. They do this through an organization called Sleep in Heavenly Peace. It is volunteer-based, and to date, they have built over 200 beds for children who would have gone without. These beds are completely free to the families of these children.

I hope you can recognize my brother Sgt. Michael Ferrell as your Hero this week.

Thank you,
Stacey

Kix’s Response:

Well, yes, we can! First, Michael, thank you for your service! Monday is Veterans Day, and I hope everyone finds time to stop and thank our veterans for all they have done for our country. I do believe that those who find themselves serving our country are deeply rooted in helping others. That’s so admirable.

Sgt. Michael Ferrell, thank you for helping out these children through the organization, Sleep in Heavenly Peace.  You are ACC’s Hero of the Week!
