The Song Remembers When: Jason Aldean – “Trouble With A Heartbreak”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

Song: “Trouble With A Heartbreak”
Songwriters: Brett Beavers, John Morgan, Kurt Allison, and Tully Kennedy
Album: Macon, Georgia

In January 2022, Jason Aldean released “Trouble With A Heartbreak.” It was the second single from his double album, Macon, Georgia. The song features three of his band members as writers. They previously collaborated on the chart-topping duet “If I Didn’t Love You” with Carrie Underwood.

“Trouble With A Heartbreak” was about the pain of breaking up with someone you still love. Beyond the lyrics, Jason was drawn to the R&B-tinged production. The track brought back memories of cruising the backroads of Macon, listening to old-school R&B. This connection made the song a natural fit for an album that celebrates the music he was exposed to back in his hometown, a town Jason credits with inspiring his passion for music – from country to blues, to rock ‘n’ roll and R&B.

The song went on to top the chart in May 2022 where it stayed for three weeks. And, by the end of the year, it ranked among the top 10 most-played songs of 2022.
