Dear Kix,
I would like to nominate my sister-in-law Amanda Norton for Hero of the Week. She is an amazing mom, but much more than that she is the epitome of a hero.
When my brother’s wife Mary was killed in a car wreck in 2011 leaving behind three young children and my brother, Amanda stepped in to help however she could.
She took care of all the heartbreaking chores that came with a wreck like that and made sure my nephews were taken care of at home while my brother was in Nashville with my niece who was also severely injured. She made sure everyone kept up with classes and homework. She made sure my brother had the time he needed to grieve. And, during all of this, she privately grieved the loss of someone who meant the world to all of us.
Not to mention, she also has three children, a husband, and a job all of her own!
She truly is an amazing, strong and wonderful lady. She is my own family’s personal hero and we all love her very much.

It’s times like these that we find out, not just how important family is, but also what it means to step up for each other and get through the toughest of times. What a great example for those kids, too.
