This week’s Hero nomination comes from Dixie who writes…
Dear Kix,

I would like to nominate my late brother Woody Hough for Hero of the Week.

Woody was more than my brother; he was friend and mentor. He was the glue that held our family together, he was the J.V. baseball coach and he volunteered any money and time he had to anything our small town needed.

He made an impact on so many young people’s lives that his passing affected everyone in the community, nearly as much as it did our family. The baseball team even changed logos from “MH” to “WH” to honor his name.

Some days it’s hard to believe he isn’t here, but we are trying to continue all the good he did and raise money for scholarships in his honor. We will never come close to all of his great work or the help he gave this community but we will try. I know the rest of his family, baseball players, and community will agree.

We love and miss you, Woody.

Thanks, Kix.

Signed,

Dixie

Kix’s Response:

Sometimes we don’t even realize how much good someone is doing around us until they’re gone… Thank you for your letter, Dixie.
