We found this week’s story in The Huffington Post, and it proves that even though teenagers get a bad rap sometimes, there are those that show incredible selflessness even in the face of terrifying circumstances:

On May 8th, 2013, in the parking lot of Sacramento’s Valley High School, a student’s mom was picking up her daughter when she hit a car in front of her. Panicked, she quickly reversed and didn’t realize her daughter was directly behind the vehicle. The girl was hit and trapped underneath.

Meanwhile, the varsity and junior varsity baseball teams were having their last practice of the season nearby. They heard screams for help and immediately sprinted toward the parking lot.  About a dozen of the players surrounded the car, lifting the four-door sedan off the ground and off of the girl. The teams’ assistant coach pulled the girl out and she was sent to a hospital where she made a full recovery.

The boys never hesitated; they rose to the situation and saved her life!   The coaches said that they were proud of the boys’ quick thinking and brave actions and no matter how they play on the field, they’re a great group of guys and that’s what matters.

Kix’s Response:

Ain’t it the truth? I like to think that a hero lives inside us all when we really need it. What an amazing story!
