My hero is my husband Austin Hunt who is a sergeant in the U.S Army. He came into my life during a difficult time… I had just given birth to my oldest daughter, Kylie, and I was a single parent. Just a few hours after her birth, he walked into the room, and I immediately felt like he was “the one,” but I kept it to myself because, at the time, he was dating my friend.
But, when Kylie turned six months old, Austin, who had broken up with his girlfriend by then, made the drive from Fort Hood, Texas to Midwest City, Oklahoma to see me. We hit it off, started dating, and five months later, we were married. Austin treats Kylie like she’s his own daughter and loves her to the moon and back.
Here we are 10 years later, with two beautiful daughters, three back-to-back deployments, and I am so blessed to be married to my very best friend… He’s a hero to our country and my own personal hero!
