This week’s nomination was brought to our attention by two different people. Chelsea and Sharon wanted to honor a very special little girl who attends the school where they work…

Dear Kix,

We nominate five year-old Cloe and the Kenner Fire Department for Hero of the Week!  Last October, Cloe and her classmates visited a local fire station to learn about fire safety.

A couple weeks ago, Cloe was home with her grandmother, who’s blind, and their house caught fire. She ran to her grandmother’s room to wake her. Then, she led her and the family dog out of the house to safety and ran to the neighbors for help.

Cloe says she only knew what to do because of what she learned during her visit to the fire station. Everyone is so proud of little Cloe and are forever grateful for the lessons from the Kenner Fire Department!

Thanks, Kix!

Signed,

Sharon and Chelsea

Kix’s Response:

Man, I love that! And, I know exactly where Kenner, Louisiana is… Good on all of you down there for educating and especially you Cloe for not panicking and taking such good care of your grandmother.
