The Song Remembers When: “Need You Now” – Lady Antebellum

It was Charles Kelley’s wife’s birthday, so he almost cancelled the writing session with the rest of Lady Antebellum and songwriter Josh Kear. Thankfully, he didn’t because they wrote a tune that would earn them four Grammys and five weeks at #1!

Well, the song all came together thanks to a melody and lyrics that Charles played for the group. The lyric was “Picture perfect memories, scattered all around the floor.” Everybody kind of dug that line, and after that the song came together pretty quick.

The trio released that song in 2009, and they took it all the way to the top of the charts for five straight weeks…

So, this week, we remember “Need You Now” from Lady Antebellum:
