This week, we came across this great story over at People about a young man whose kindness made a difference for one elderly woman. We thought it was hero-worthy and hopefully you do, too.

Tracy takes an annual family vacation to the beach in Montauk, New York. But, on this year’s trip, the 94 year-old started having difficulties walking, and she couldn’t get to the sand to see the waves.

Well, the family searched for a wheelchair but had no luck. Then, thankfully, a 19 year-old lifeguard named Shane stepped in and offered her a ride in his Dune buggy.

The family didn’t think she’d be into this, but Tracy was thrilled! And, she couldn’t believe how kind this young man was. He picked her up at her room, took her all the way down to the waterfront, even gave her a hug and told her what an inspiration she was. Later on that afternoon, he dropped her off.

Tracy’s daughter Janet said that seeing her mom that happy was just priceless!

Kix’s Response:

Hey, Shane, I’ve gotta tell you… That’s a big part of maturity – learning to really appreciate the older folks and if we’re fortunate enough to live that long, hopefully, somebody will take care of us.
