The Song Remembers When: “Love Like Crazy” – Lee Brice

This week’s tune was written by Tim James and Doug Johnson. It started to take shape after they came up with a little guitar intro. And then, the lyrics were inspired by something Doug’s grandmother used to say: “Trust in God, but lock your doors,” along with something that Doug often said to his friends and family: “Be safe, but love like crazy.”

After they finished, they called Lee Brice, and they said that had a song that felt like he had written it. And, you know what? He loved it! Lee said that it reminded him of his own grandparents who were married for over 50 years!

That tune was released in the fall of 2009 off Lee’s debut album…
