Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not? – Shannon’s Story

This is where YOU tell us YOUR love stories!  You know, like how you met your honey… how you found true love after all this time… or maybe even how you finally got back together with the one that got away.  You get the idea – whatever your "happily ever after" is, we wanna hear it!!!

This week’s story is from Shannon in Indiana who writes…

Hey Kix,

It seems kind of silly telling this story at my age, but I couldn’t resist.

It was the summer of 2011, Randy was in his early 50s and I was in my late 40s…both single and learning to date all over again. We had known each other when we were kids and had rekindled a friendship that I was certain wouldn't go anywhere. I just knew he wasn't interested, but I was in love. We had been on a couple of "friendly dates", but it didn't seem like anything serious. But, I took my son, who was 11 at the time, to the County Fairgrounds to see Randy perform with his local band.

After the show when everyone was tearing down, my son was off with his friends and I got up the nerve to walk up to the stage.  I have no idea why I was so nervous, other than I didn't want to appear desperate…and well, you know, there is that "hard to get thing." Anyway, Randy sits down on the stage and I'm standing between his legs with my hands on his knees. I'm complimenting him on the show, [having a little] small talk and not wanting to hold him up too long.

The song "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not" had been playing on the radio all that summer.  So, sitting there resting my hands on his knees, I simply looked up into his eyes and [asked], "Are you gonna kiss me or WHAT?" To which he replied, "I believe I will," as he cupped my face in his hands and kissed me right there. Everyone disappeared. For a moment, it was just us.

We were married by the next year's fair performance and I had a front row seat this time. We're deeply in love and drive everyone crazy, but we'll take it. Life hasn't always been kind and we're soaking it up and enjoying every moment.

Thanks for letting me share my story.

Signed,
Shannon

Kix's response:

Well, there ya go, Shannon! And, hey, lots of dudes are shy like me. We like it when you girls take a little initiative – help a feller out!!!

Alright, now it’s your turn.  Tell us your long lost love story or whatever kind of romance nonsense tale you got! Feel free to include pictures of you and your sweetheart, too.  Send us a message on Facebook or email us at American Country Countdown.
