Our Kidde Hero of the Week spotlights Dale Beatty.

Recently, Kix read about the good work Dale Beatty was doing on CNN and wanted to share it with you!

After Dale lost his legs while serving in Iraq, his community thanked him for his service by helping him build a home. Dale was so touched by the awesome gesture he decided he wanted to pay it forward and do the same for his fellow wounded vets.

So, Dale co-founded Purple Heart Homes, and, to date, they’ve helped build or modify homes for dozens of disabled U.S. veterans.  Dale told CNN, "We wouldn't leave someone behind on the battlefield, so why would we do it here at home?”

Watch this clip of Dale being saluted as one of CNN's Heroes of 2013:

Now, if you or someone you know, want to help out, just log on to the Purple Heart Homes website to learn how you can get involved! And, to read more about Dale's story, visit his CNN Heroes 2013 page.
