Our Kidde Hero of the Week spotlights Anton Rudovic, Isabelle and the good Samaritans of New York City.

Back in February, Kix saw this story on ABC's Good Morning America and wanted to share it with you!

It was a super chilly afternoon in New York City, when all of a sudden, Polly McCourt, went into labor. Her doorman Anton helped her to the street corner in order to hail a taxi; however, when they got to the corner of East 68th Street and Third Avenue – a woman jumped in front of her and stole the cab!

Unfortunately, the baby was coming! So, Polly gave up trying to get to nearby Lenox Hill Hospital and sat down on the sidewalk. With her doorman supporting her back and female bystanders providing assistance, the newborn arrived in just under five minutes. One woman, who they’d later learn was named Isabelle, rushed to give the new baby her coat…and then, she just walked off into the freezing cold without her jacket.

Eventually, Mom and baby were taken to the hospital and everyone is healthy and doing great! As a tribute to the mysterious Isabelle, who so generously gave up her coat, the couple named their new daughter, Illa Isabelle!

How can you not LOVE that story?!?! There are a few heroes in this one: the doorman Anton, the bystanders helping, and, of course, the mysterious Isabelle!  Its always awesome hearing about people jumping in and helping out a total stranger…make that TWO strangers!
