Our Kidde Hero of the Week spotlights Jennica's father.
This week, Jennica emailed us with this story and we wanted to share it with you:
Dear Kix,
My hero is my father and has been since I was born and will be for the rest of my life. When I was a baby he used to go away for six months a year to put out forest fires. But, when he was home, it was the best!
Throughout my life when anything was wrong, like being stuck on the side of the road or having boy troubles… He’d drop anything and everything to help.
I’ll always remember when I would bring a new boy home and how my dad would sit there with a gun on the couch and have "the talk." All I could do is laugh! He always wanted to meet the guys and "check them out," so he could protect me from any creeps. He always had my best interest at heart.
He passed away last year due to heart disease. No girl should ever be without her father, but I’m blessed to have the memories I have. Just being a great dad is being heroic to me!
Every time I hear "Cleaning This Gun" all I do is think of him. Can you please play that for me?

You got it, Jennica. This is a great letter! Thank you and you’re right – memories are forever, but, let’s not forget, folks, we’ve got to make 'em to have 'em! Go do something special this weekend with your family, and, at the very least, pick up a phone and make the call!
