Our Kidde Hero of the Week spotlights Mark E. Brady.
This week, Diane emailed us with her nomination and we wanted to share it with you:
Dear Kix,
Mark E. Brady is the Chief Spokesperson for the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department. He's also my boss, and I would like to share why he is my “real life hero.”
Mark Brady’s leadership is the type under which an employee could become spoiled. He has no problem saying “thank you,” “please,” and, most importantly, “good job.” He makes me feel appreciated, which in turn motivates me to want to do my best. Although he is my superior, he has never been one to push around his authority. He asks my opinion and listens to my ideas.
More specifically, the last couple of years have been extremely difficult for me for various health reasons, a divorce, and loss of loved ones. But, with all I have faced and am still facing, Mark Brady has gone above and beyond to ensure that my job is not a source of stress for me.
Mark Brady is a remarkable and compassionate person, who has truly been a saving grace for me. I am very blessed to have him as a boss and cannot think of anyone who better deserves to be Kidde’s “Hero of the Week.”

Thanks, Diane. Well, we have a lot of dramatic and very powerful stories every week turned in for this feature, but this one’s kind of cool… Heroes come in all shapes and sizes and sometimes it’s those ones that just help us from day to day to face the world with the spirit it takes to carry on. I think most of us probably have someone like that in our lives, so thank you, Diane, for reminding us of that.

It could even be a neighbor, family member or friend who lent a crucial helping hand.
