Our Kidde Hero of the Week spotlights Aaron Schneider.

Recently, Kix read a story on a Fox News website about how Aaron saved a dog's life, and he wanted to share it with you!

In Missouri, a U.S. Army Reserve Iraq war veteran risked his own life to save a stray dog. Aaron Schneider saw the dog get hit by a car. The driver of the vehicle did not stop, so Aaron pulled over and ran across three lanes of traffic in order to protect the dog from oncoming cars until he was able to coax him off the road. He couldn’t pick the beagle up because he was in so much pain, so Aaron waited nearly three hours until he was eventually able to get him onto a makeshift stretcher and into the back of a friend’s pickup truck. Then, Aaron and his friend took the dog to an animal hospital where he was stabilized. The veterinary staff named him Buster and is expected to make a full recovery.

Attempts to locate Buster’s owners have failed so Aaron also offered to give him a permanent home!

Kix's Response:

Who doesn’t love a good "saving a stray” story? I think most all of us get this one – animals somehow bring out the best in us, don’t they?
