This week’s story is from Lynn in Effingham, Illinois. She emailed us and wrote…
Dear Kix,
When I was 15, my friend was dating a guy named Gary. She would come over to my house to call him and they’d usually just end up fighting, so she’d hand me the phone. Well, after a while, he started calling me and we’d talk for hours.
Three months past and we talked almost every day, but the kicker is that I still had never seen him… I had no idea what he even looked like. One night, though, I went to a party, and he was there! A friend of mine pointed him out so I went over to him and tapped him on the shoulder. Well, he turned around, said "Hi," and knew exactly who I was!
We spent the entire night talking and at the end of the evening he offered to drive me home. But, on our way to his truck, he opened my hand and told me to hold onto his class ring because one day it would be a diamond.
We have been together ever since and that was 31 years ago and I love him more every day!
