Our Kidde Hero of the Week spotlights Mickey Milam.

This week, Neal emailed us with his nomination and we wanted to share it with you:

Dear Kix,

My Hero of the Week nominee is Mickey Milam of Nashville.  Mickey is a former police officer who was injured in the line of duty.  He found out later that there was no organization set-up to help raise money for injured first-responders.  So, he formed Help the Good Guys.

Help the Good Guys raises money by doing things like organizing country music concerts, auctioning autographed guitars, etc. Mickey has a lot of fun connections in Nashville and the country music industry has been very responsive to help. He recently was raising money to help an injured Houston firefighter who lost both of his legs in a fire last year.

He’s a remarkable person who is always thinking of ways to help others and I think the world would be a better place if more people thought like him!

Thanks, Kix!

Signed,
Neal
