This week’s Kidde Hero nomination comes from our ACC Facebook page. Marion sent us a message. She writes:

Dear Kix,

I’d like to nominate Anna Cannon for Hero of the Week!

Back in 2010, Anna’s husband Chris, who is a solider, was stationed in Afghanistan. While Chris was at the base, there was a suicide bomber who entered their camp. But, before he could get to the soldiers’ sleeping quarters, street dogs, who had been cared for by the U.S. soldiers, alerted the camp of the bomber, and the dogs attacked him. One dog, Sasha, did not survive, and two others were injured but survived.

When Chris made it back home to the States, he asked his wife, Anna, to help him rescue the dogs and bring them to the United States. That’s when Anna started The Puppy Rescue Mission. Not only has she brought back the dogs her husband knew, but she’s helped other U.S. soldiers. And, so far, she’s brought home 15 hundred dogs for our soldiers. She does so much for our military!

Thank you for your consideration!

Signed,

Marion

Kix’s Response:

You know, that’s not something that one thinks about when our men and women go over there… and what a great thing to bring them back home to the men or women that they bonded with and stood by while they were overseas.
