This week’s story is from Joanne who sent us an email…
Dear Kix,
A family friend, who I had not seen in ages, called me and asked if she could set me up on a "blind date." I said yes, and we all went out on a double date, danced and had a great time!
The guy asked me out for the next Saturday but then stood me up, so I decided he wasn't my type. He never even called until the following Thursday but finally asked me out again. I guess I thought he needed a second chance and I said yes… And, well, the rest is history as they say!
Long story short, here we are today… We have three children, five grandchildren and just celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary on August 24th. And, we’re still totally in love!
Moral of the story… second chances are worth the try!

Whoa, Joanne – he stood you up and you just gave him a second chance? You’re obviously still upset about it or you wouldn’t have brought it up! Kidding, Joanne, kidding! But, I am curious – where the heck was he?
Okay, I’ll let it go – 51 years is pretty good, I must admit!!!
I doubt that whole "stand-you-up" thing would have worked at my house though – I probably just got Charles in trouble – there he was minding his own business and thought the whole “stood Joanne up" thing had been forgotten about.
